Nespresso Inissia Espresso Machine by De’Longhi
Hi Guys, today I’m reviewing the Nespresso Inissia Espresso Maker with Aeroccino Plus Milk Frother.
It comes with the espresso maker and milk frother. You can buy the Inissia by itself or with the frother. I’ll put links to both in the description below. The Inissia makes a single cup of espresso at a time and has a 19 bar pressure pump, it does not make regular coffee. This unit includes 16 capsules to make espresso.
The Inissia measures 4.7 inches wide, 9 inches tall and 12.6 inches deep. It weighs 5.3 lbs. It’s sleek, compact and takes up very little counter space. This black looks elegant, it’s also available in red, white, silver, titan and blue. The housing is plastic.
The unit comes with 16 capsules, an instruction booklet with pictures that is confusing. I think they could’ve saved time by just writing out instructions clearly. There’s also an elegant folder with some information about Nespresso and a coffee menu describing each coffee capsule. You have to refer to this, otherwise, you would have no clue what is written in Italian on the capsule. This is the first time I’ve needed a manual to figure out which coffee to use. After you get through the included capsules, you can of course buy your favorite ones so you don’t have to read the menu. I’ll put a link to the capsules below. Buying capsules at approximately 70 cents each is the price you pay for the convenience of any single serve unit.
Before use, clean the machine by running water through it 3 times.
First, plug in the machine and turn it on by pressing either button. Both will blink for about 25 seconds while preheating. It will stop blinking when the machine is ready to use. Fill the tank with water. The tank holds 24 ounces and sits easily in the back, there are two slots here. Lift the lever and place your pod inside. Pull the lever down to close. Place a cup underneath. If you’re using a taller cup, fold up the drip tray. Press the espresso or lunga button to brew. The espresso button will give you 1.4 ounces and the lunga button will give you 3.7 ounces. You can customize the cup size by pressing and holding down the button until your cup is filled to the size you want. The machine will use that size in the future for brewing. The machine will automatically stop when finished brewing. You can stop the machine while brewing by pressing the button and increase the volume by pressing the button again. The clearance from the outlet to the tray is just about 3.5 inches and with the drip tray folded up, it’s 5.5 inches. So if I wanted to make cafe americano, the closest thing to regular drip coffee, I can use my giant coffee mug to brew espresso and add hot water to it.
The smell is amazing, the espresso looks beautiful with good crema. It brews ridiculously fast. It is loud so you can’t run it if someone’s sleeping close by. Then again, it’s literally just a few seconds of brew time – 30 seconds.
The milk frother is automatic. It’s great for adding to your espresso to make cappuccinos, caffee lattes, lattle macchiato and iced cappuccinos. The instruction manual has a few recipes. It comes with a base, the jug with lid and two whisks. This one with a circular spring is for hot and cold milk froth and this smaller one is for hot milk. You simply push either whisk inside the jug on this little part. There is a max line that you should follow when using either whisk. If you don’t, milk will definitely overflow. For hot milk or hot milk froth, press the button and let go. For cold milk froth, press the button and hold down for 2 seconds. There’s a good chance this little whisk is going to get lost, so it’s best to keep it on the lid when not using.
After espresso is finished brewing, wait a minute because there may be dripping and then pull the lever down, the used pod will be dropped into the container below. Pull it out and throw the pod out after each use. The container will hold about 10 pods but I wouldn’t recommend leaving them in there.
To turn off the machine, press both buttons at once. If the machine has not been active for 9 minutes, it will automatically shut off.
Overall, Nespresso is a great budget espresso maker. It couldn’t be easier to use with one button operation. It’s extremely fast and the taste of the coffee is excellent. I hope you found this review helpful. Please like this video and subscribe for more reviews. Thanks for watching!
